Why Pico?

I personally use Pico for small projects all the time, for a variety of reasons:

  1. It's fast. Like, really fast. It only loads a renderer and whatever plugins you give it. That's it.
  2. Themes are easy. Twig is easy. You want to tweak it? Just do it.
  3. It's extensible. Plugins are as easy as themes. Also true of WordPress, but that's not a good thing.
  4. It's tiny. 765K gzipped. A small pile o' PHP files and a tiny Markdown file for each page. Even the config is a YML file.
  5. You don't need to setup a database, an IIS server, or any other extra crap. As long as PHP is up and running, you'll be fine.

I could probably list more, but I'll let them sell themselves.
