Why Pico?
I personally use Pico for small projects all the time, for a variety of reasons:
- It's fast. Like, really fast. It only loads a renderer and whatever plugins you give it. That's it.
- Themes are easy. Twig is easy. You want to tweak it? Just do it.
- It's extensible. Plugins are as easy as themes. Also true of WordPress, but that's not a good thing.
- It's tiny. 765K gzipped. A small pile o' PHP files and a tiny Markdown file for each page. Even the config is a YML file.
- You don't need to setup a database, an IIS server, or any other extra crap. As long as PHP is up and running, you'll be fine.
I could probably list more, but I'll let them sell themselves.
